Popova A. V. Russian Financial Market in 2003: State and the Problems of Development

This article deals with the results of Russian financial market development in 2003. Problems preventing its more intensive growth are analyzed. First part of the article sums up the results of the banking sector development, reveals main problems, and institutional changes that will probably exert shaping influence on the development of that sector for the upcoming years. ¬Second part describes the problems and prospects of the stock market deve¬lopment. The third part concentrates on issues of collective investments. The conclusion gives the analysis of measures, focused on the improving of financial market regulation and gives the summary of results and prospects of its development.
