Bukhvalov A. V. The Theory of Firm and Corporate Governance: Preface to Classics of Corporate Governance

The place of classical paper of 1976 by M. Jensen and W. Meckling is analyzed in the historic perspective of acquiring of the understanding of agency and development of the concept of modern corporation. We give also some hints aimed to assist in the reading of the article. Finally we discuss the importance of this direction of research for maturing processes of Russian corporations as an organizational innovation for our country.
