Electric Power Markets: Structure and Peculiarities — Comparative Analysis (on the Case of Several OECD Countries) This article describes the peculiarities of the electric power as a commodity: unstorability, high demand fluctuation and price inelasticity etc., which directly affect the structure and the model of the electric power industry in any country. Analysis is based on the comparison of the electric power industry models in the selected OECD countries that have already implemented competitive mechanism for building electric power market.
