A. E. Loukianova, E. A. Nechaev. Hedge Funds as an Institution of Alternative Investments

This article is dedicated to identifying the place of hedge funds among other investing institutions. Within the framework of research in this field, we have analyzed the activities of alternative investment institutions, have graded it and have given the terminological interpretation. In addition to this, we tried to structure specific futures of the hedge funds activities and examined the legal base of their activities in general. Practical value of this research is that the results can be used by professionals, legislators and governmental bodies in order to increase the effectiveness of these institutions. It also can be applied while elaborating the set of regulations to protect legal rights and interests of investors of these investments funds.
