The Dynamics of Industrial Capitalism: Perspectives on Alfred Chandler’s Scale and Scope This article is a review essay of one of the most important works written by Alfred D. Chandler, leading business historian of the late XX century. Major topics and propositions of the treatise are analyzed. The logic of managerial capitalism is examined in detail. The attempt to link the Chandler's approach with the nonorthodox literature in competitiveness, organizational economics, and business strategy is undertaken.
