Merkuryeva I. S. The Impact of Government Policy on the Labour Market Behaviour of Russian Elderly People

This article considers the policy of Russian government aimed at rehabilitation of the pension system and its impact on the labour force participation and labour supply decisions of the elderly. The main focus is on the analysis of the impact of 1997 Bill on the labour market decisions of elderly, namely the probability of labour force participation and the amount of labour supply among the retired people. To find the empirical evidence of the Bill consequences, the panel data set from Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS) in the period between 1994 and 2000 has been used.
